This photograph was taken on a beautiful day at Lower Waterfowl Lake, along the Icefields Parkway in Alberta, Canada. It is easy to see why the Icefields Parkway is frequently described as the most scenic highway in the world. The lake is located in Banff National Park. The unusual color of the water is a result of the amount of glacial silt in the lake.

I am a world traveler with a passion for nature photography. Whether I am taking pictures near my home on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington, or in far away places like Antarctica, I am inspired and awed by the beauty found in nature.
